Sri Ram Kumar Basu Thakur and Sri Horo Kumar Basu Thakur were the two brothers from ‘Bodo Badi’. Sri Horo Kumar was admitted to Dhaka Collegiate School after two years of admission of Ram Kumar to school. After passing out from there with Junior Scholarship he moved on to Barisal District and joined as a teacher of Mathematics in Barisal Zilla School. He was a famous teacher there. Even his drawing was really good and one of his oil paintings was on display in the Zilla School.
The oldest son of Sri Horo Kumar Basu Thakur was Sri Lalit Kumar Basu Thakur. He was born in February of 1853 at Malkhanagarh. In his youth he passed from Palash School (Montessori) and in 1868 he passed the Entrance Examination from Dhaka Collegiate School with scholarship. Later he passed F.A in 1870 and B.A in 1873 from Presidency College in Kolkata. In 1874 he passed B.L and became a lawyer. First he went to Pabna District and then to Barisal District and worked there as a lawyer for a few years. In 1882 he joined a government office as permanent Munsif. He retired in 1909 as First Class Sub Judge.
When he was working in Danton in Midnapore District at that time he made a restroom for pilgrims to Shri Jagannath Mandir. When he was a Munsif in Faridpur and Goaland he worked tirelessly for the poor people there and also set up a fund for them.
After his retirement he went to Kashi and spent rest of his life there. In his final days he used to work on Sastras. He was also a sponsor of Ramkrishna Mission in Kashi. He used to help any Bengali residents living in Kashi if they needed help and he also helped in the final rites of poor Bengali people in Kashi. In October of 1916 he died at the age of 64 years during the time of Durga Pujas.
