Sukomal Basu Thakur, the third son of Pashupati Basu Thakur, was born on 20th August 1909 in Giridih . He was the editor of the weekly Sahitya Patrika “Kheyali “from 1933 to 1936. Then he was the edited of the home magazine called “Bhobissat”of Jorasanko Thakur bari from 1936 to 1941. Like his elder brother, he was skilled in writing children's literature. His book of poems “Istishan”, “Pretatmar Barta”, “Anabiskrito” and Play” Parir Dana” was admired in the world of children's literature. He was proficient in poetry, stories and various compositions. He has had innumerable correspondences with Rabindranath Tagore. Not in numbers, but the quality of Sukomal Basu Tagore's writing has taken place in Bengali literature.
